HELP & FAQ

Quick answers to the most common questions. Can't find what you need? Email [email protected].

HOW DOES STEM SEPARATION WORK?

Upload a YouTube link or audio file and Shredder uses AI to split the recording into individual instrument tracks — drums, bass, vocals, and everything else. The process typically takes 30–90 seconds depending on the song length.

WHAT ARE SPARKS?

Sparks are the credits that power Shredder. Each song extraction costs 5 Sparks. You get 20 free Sparks when you sign up — enough for 4 songs. Buy more Spark packs from your profile when you need them. Sparks never expire and work across all NextGen Noise products.

CAN I USE SHREDDER WITHOUT AN INSTRUMENT?

Absolutely. Shredder is for anyone learning music — with or without an instrument in hand. Use it to train your ear, study song structure, understand chord progressions, or just listen to isolated parts you've never been able to hear clearly before.

IS IT LEGAL TO PROCESS SONGS WITH SHREDDER?

Shredder is designed for personal practice and education. Processed stems are for your own use — not for redistribution, commercial use, or re-uploading. You're responsible for ensuring you have the right to process the content you submit. See our Terms of Service for full details.

WHAT FILE FORMATS CAN I UPLOAD?

You can submit YouTube URLs (youtube.com and youtu.be links) or upload audio files directly. Supported formats include MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, and M4A. Maximum file size is 200MB.

HOW MANY STEMS DOES SHREDDER CREATE?

Each extraction creates 4 stems: Drums, Bass, Vocals, and Other (guitar, keys, everything else). These can be muted, soloed, and volume-adjusted independently.

CAN I SLOW DOWN A SONG WITHOUT CHANGING THE PITCH?

Yes. The Loop & Slow Down feature lets you set tempo from 25% to 100% of the original speed. Pitch stays locked — no chipmunk effect, no artifacts. Use it to practice the parts that are wrecking you at full speed.

HOW DOES KEY TRANSPOSITION WORK?

You can shift any song up or down by up to 6 semitones in real time. It happens instantly as the track plays — no reloading. Use it to match your vocal range, play along in a different key, or retune a song for a different instrument setup.

MY EXTRACTION FAILED — WHAT DO I DO?

Try again. Most failures are transient (server timeout, network hiccup). If a YouTube link consistently fails, it may be region-locked, age-restricted, or unavailable. Try downloading the audio as MP3 first and uploading directly. If the issue persists, contact support.

HOW DO I GET MY SPARKS BACK IF SOMETHING WENT WRONG?

If an extraction fails after deducting Sparks, the system automatically refunds them. If that does not happen within a few minutes, email [email protected] with the song URL and we will sort it manually.
